"Foundation chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it. Harris will play Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire. Pace, meanwhile, will portray Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy."
"To make it more palpatable for the viewers the final script contains significant changes to the overall complex storyline of the book series with increased emphasis on certain characters and their relationships."
"Notwithstanding these changes, rest assured that the essence of The Foundation series will be preserved."
Notes 1:
It's planned for 2021, but will probably be delayed until 2022.

One of the two showrunners, Josh Friedman, perhaps best known for the FOX TV science fiction show "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008-2009)" has left on 'amicable' terms.
David S. Goyer is now the 'head honcho'.
Notes 2:
Is the Emperor's name change to "Brother Day" significant?
Which Emperor is he? Probably Cleon I from the books.
There's also the older "Brother Dusk" and the younger "Brother Dawn".
Notes 3:
The cast.
