Discuss JUJUTSU KAISEN

Hello, why is there only Season 1 listed with 47 episodes and no Season 2?

Hey mods does the fact that what you're doing is universally reviled tell you anything? Like at all?

Reposting what I said in the Re:Zero thread since it's relevant.,

It really is prime "we've investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong" when you reference your own rules that you created to justify your actions. The fact that you're doing an incorrect thing because it follows the rule shows that the rule that you created is flawed.

Change your anime guidelines. They are not good. We are in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen and your records should reflect that.

Oh and still waiting on you to do this for shows that actually need this, like oh I don't know literally one of the most popular anime One Piece. Just one example. So weird that you can do this so quickly for shows that do not need it at all but not for shows that don't.

Speaking only for myself, not really. Different databases have different rules and these are ours.

I joined about 3.5 years ago and the anime guidelines for how to add new episodes to anime have not changed since then. The guidelines have very likely stayed the same for over 4 years now.

We are also not just referencing our anime guidelines, we are also referencing the anime's official website (as well as every other TV entry's official website) to mirror it as best we can.

The fact that you're doing an incorrect thing because it follows the rule shows that the rule that you created is flawed.

How is following the official website an incorrect thing? We are mirroring the official website as best we can. The official website says "Hidden Inventory" / 「懐玉」 is episode 25.

Change your anime guidelines. They are not good. We are in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen and your records should reflect that.

If you don't want TMDB follow the official website for anime, what would you have us follow? There needs to be an official source that organizes the anime's episodes and, ideally numbers them from oldest to newest. IMDB and TVDB are user-contributed so they can't be official sources. ANN, MAL, and AniDB are anime-specific databases so they can help make informed decisions but they are also user-contributed and they can't be official sources, either. Please keep in mind that the first episode of a season is always "1" and this is an immutable rule as it applies to every single TV entry on TMDB.

We also have an episode group available for a season split here - https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/95479/episode_group/64a3fc4fe9da6900ae2fa807

Not weird at all, this anime was merged so quickly, , as you put it, vs other anime because it was caught by a moderator as soon as the new episodes started so there was very little merging that had to be done.

Other anime like One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia have too many episodes and/or too much translation information for a moderator to manually merge the anime. They will eventually be merged automatically by Travis at some point in the future.

Speaking only for myself, not really.

Right thanks for confirming what we all knew.

Different databases have different rules and these are ours.

When did I refer to a different database? I never said your rules are bad because of other databases.

We are also not just referencing our anime guidelines, we are also referencing the anime's official website (as well as every other TV entry's official website) to mirror it as best we can.

Your anime guidelines dictate how the the information from the anime's official website is interpreted. In your previous two comments you said "According to our anime-specific guidelines" and "as per our anime guidelines." So yeah, you were just referencing your anime guidelines.

How is following the official website an incorrect thing? We are mirroring the official website as best we can. The official website says "Hidden Inventory" / 「懐玉」 is episode 25.

The official website also says "season 2." Really is quite curious how you directly linked to episode 25 instead of the main Episodes page that shows season 2.

Again (mostly) repeating from the Re:Zero thread,

It's incorrect because the 25th episode of the first season does not exist. So you now have a choice among two technically incorrect things. Would you rather have an incorrect entry for something that does not exist and would be confusing to viewers tuning into the second season or one that's incongruous with the official site in an incredibly minor and specific way that everyone would understand? The correct answer is the latter because it's more correct and easier to understand. Every single viewer of the episode "Hidden Inventory" knows its the first episode of the second season. So you are mirroring the official website in a bad and unnecessary way. You can put the absolute number that doesn't require you to do things incorrectly.

By "best we can" you are acknowledging that a choice was made. I and many other people are telling you the choice is a bad one.

If you don't want TMDB follow the official website for anime, what would you have us follow? There needs to be an official source that organizes the anime's episodes

Never said TMDB shouldn't follow the official website. I'm saying it should do it better. And as I showed the official source does organize the anime's episodes.

Not weird at all, this anime was merged so quickly, , as you put it, vs other anime because it was caught by a moderator as soon as the new episodes started so there was very little merging that had to be done.

One Piece has been a known issue for years. Instead of putting it off you could have been expanding season 1 in that time.

Other anime like One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia

I'm sorry what My Hero Academia? Attack on Titan? What are you going to do with shows universally known to have multiple separate seasons?

I'm sorry what My Hero Academia? Attack on Titan? What are you going to do with shows universally known to have multiple separate seasons?

Just that they want to do even more damage and come back to shows where indeed the seasons are admitted from all to one season with an absolute order.

For me, the absolute order should not be respected (moreover only for anime...) and it is the groups of epsodes which should carry the information. Even more when everyone agrees on a cut in season...

And I'm not even talking about the episodes cut in half like for Urusei Yatsura or Ranking of King (and surely many others...)

For me, the absolute order should not be respected

I disagree. Absolute order should be a thing for long running continuous shows like One Piece and Dragon Ball Z since that's how they aired. Separating them into seasons or arcs should be put into episode groups since it is done after the fact.

Yes, for shows like those mentioned like One Piece or Dragon Ball, I agree. But the rule shouldn't be applied stupidly like that... Just with these shows, you can clearly see that the cut-out isn't the same and rightly so.

Speaking only for myself, not really. Different databases have different rules and these are ours.

And what people are criticizing are your rules. No one but the mods themselves like them, but it sounds like you are ignoring a good amount of the userbase

I joined about 3.5 years ago and the anime guidelines for how to add new episodes to anime have not changed since then. The guidelines have very likely stayed the same for over 4 years now.

Just because the rules have been here for a long time doesn't mean they should be kept. If mods don't have the power to actually do anything to the rules, then I can understand a little more, but there has not been enough communication to know what the case is there.

We are also not just referencing our anime guidelines, we are also referencing the anime's official website (as well as every other TV entry's official website) to mirror it as best we can.

Mirror it as best you can by not turning a blind eye to the fact that episodes 25-47 are a part of season 2 according to the holy website mods keep using.

How is following the official website an incorrect thing? We are mirroring the official website as best we can. The official website says "Hidden Inventory" / 「懐玉」 is episode 25.

Nobody is saying that using the website as a source is a bad thing. What people are mad about is the fact that the terminology of the studio who makes the show seems to be completely irrelevant to the mods.

If you don't want TMDB follow the official website for anime, what would you have us follow? There needs to be an official source that organizes the anime's episodes and, ideally numbers them from oldest to newest. IMDB and TVDB are user-contributed so they can't be official sources. Please keep in mind that the first episode of a season is always "1" and this is an immutable rule as it applies to every single TV entry on TMDB.

Again, not saying to not use the website, but just because the studio likes to know the total number of episodes in the series does not mean it is a continuous series. It is so odd to me that the very same source you keep using contradicts what you're saying. The website should also not be the only source used. Also "they are user-contributed so they can't be official sources"? Then what the heck is TMDB? Because I was under the impression that TMDB was also a user-contributed database, at least according to TMDB's own about us page.

Other anime like One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia have too many episodes and/or too much translation information for a moderator to manually merge the anime. They will eventually be merged automatically by Travis at some point in the future.

Quick question, why is the studio who makes a show not a reputable source? Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia have seasons by every stretch of the definition. Attack on Titan especially shows what season each episode is in within the episode itself, with each and every opening having the logo with X season under it.

Now with the type of the episode we manage to see a semblance of a real season... But strangely I find that it's an aberration... So we have a season of 50 episodes with 2 "closing" episodes which represent ... well, literally two distinct seasons...

Other anime like One Piece, Naruto, Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia have too many episodes and/or too much translation information for a moderator to manually merge the anime. They will eventually be merged automatically by Travis at some point in the future.

So, u mentioned these anime will be merged automatically, you can choose "add a season 2 " to make all things as usual. we can accept both separated and merged. but they should be consistent. but now, it seems you are fighting the world.

I love the "each database has their own rules" thing 😂🤣

Yeah, they have and their rules regarding animes are actually all pretty similar. Only the tmdb does it COMPLETELY different.

And I hate to say this, but most of us here are more or less forced to use tmdb, because the cheap folks on trakt didn't want to pay the tvdb (which simkl does actually, and thank God plex does too, otherwise I had to sort everything manually)

So, we're not here because you're so fcking awesome.

That's the weirdest, annoying fck I've ever seen, tbh. Horrible. Those arguments though, they were hilarious.
