Drew's hopes of a relaxing holiday weekend are crushed when Mr. Wick makes Drew in charge of Winfred-Louder's Thanksgiving Day parade. Crunched for time, Drew has to make a deal with Mimi that she can be the "snow queen" in the parade if her father's trucking company supplies the equipment for the floats. Unfortunately, Mr. Wick chooses someone else to be grand marshal and Mimi sabotages the parade.

An employee is killed by a speeding car while trying to cross a busy intersection in front of the store. Dexter K. Roberts, a popular salesman famous for his great parties, is brought in to take over her job. Drew feels left out when everyone leaves to have lunch with Dexter while Drew is in the copy room. Dexter then embarrasses Drew in front of the staff by using him as the guinea pig for his magic tricks. Dexter throws a big party for his co-workers, and even invites Lewis and Oswald. Drew and Mimi are the only ones who do not have invitations. They run into each other at the Warsaw that night and discuss the pain of being outcasts. They become furious and decide to crash the party and ruin everyone's good time. Dexter reveals that he had actually left invitations for Drew in his pockets during the magic trick. However, Mimi was not invited because of her attitude. She wants to trash his house, but Dexter says that he has called the cops and orders her to leave. He pleads

Drew finds out Speedy's hip problem is getting worse but there's hope in a new operation that could restore the dog to his old self. The problem is the operation costs $2700. Nora recommends Drew use his company insurance to pay for it. Winfred-Louder has same-sex health benefits; all Drew would have to do is claim the operation is for his lover. Drew agrees but ends up having to prove he is gay by hiring Oswald to play his lover "Aaron".

Kate is annoyed the guys offered a date with her as a prize in a contest for Buzz Beer. Mr. Wick finds the winning bottle cap and Kate reluctantly goes through with the date. The guys are stunned when Kate and Wick seemingly fall for each other. Little do they know, Kate and Wick are playing a prank as revenge for the contest. However, Mr. Wick may not be pretending.

The government seizes Drew's house after Larry's antics in the previous episode. They plan to sell it at auction. Drew gets an idea from Nicki to declare bankruptcy on the house to get out of debt and then have Lewis bid on it on Drew's behalf. Tensions erupt as Drew has a difficult time accepting Kate and Oswald as a couple.

The Buzz Beer tank explodes, causing beer to rain down all over the Clemens' yard. Drew invites them over for dinner to convince them not to sue. Janet talks Greg into investing in Buzz Beer so the gang can replace the tank. Greg agrees on the condition he can call all the shots. The gang is forced to work constantly so Drew decides to get Greg drunk to loosen him up.

Lewis forces Oswald and Drew to shake and make up. Kate tries to come up with a way to tell Oswald she isn't in love with him anymore and wants to call off the wedding. Drew urges Kate to tell Oswald to his face and get it over with. Kate's plan is thwarted when Oswald throws a surprise wedding ceremony for her in Drew's backyard. Kate is at odds with whether to avoid humiliating Oswald or to be true to her heart.

Mimi runs into Nicki at the store's bridal registry. Nicki has to race upstairs to try to keep Mimi from telling Drew about her wedding plans; she had wanted to share the news herself. He claims that he is happy for her. Drew is surprised when Nicki sends him a wedding invitation. Kate, Lewis and Oswald insist that it is only a courtesy invitation and try to discourage him from attending. They plan to stay away as well, but Drew urges them to go to the wedding. Oswald is really excited because the wedding is on a boat. Drew goes on a date with a video store clerk, but suddenly decides to take her to the wedding. Nicki's parents cannot believe that he had the nerve to show up. Drew makes a complete fool of himself while trying to prove how mature he is. He actually manages to give a toast that isn't totally humilating, but throws out his back while trying to show up the groom on the dance floor. Mimi is a little freaked out, but soon takes to the idea and has Doreen help her play pranks on Drew. The store's computers fail a test for Y2K compliance, and a glitch causes excerpts from Drew's diary to appear on all the computer screens. A panicked Drew seeks the aid of the store's computer expert, Hal. He convinces Drew that there will be a massive computer failure and total chaos on New Year's Eve.
