No. They are listed as separate movie pages on the Disney+ official site.

I agree with Homer Jr - they are clearly part of a series, and each one is listed as an episode on various other databases. The movies should be deleted and the tv series entry should be reinstated. They are 6 minutes long - clearly not movies, nor intended to be movies. They are listed here on DisneyPlus as a show (not a movie): https://disneyplusoriginals.disney.com/show/i-am-groot

This is just a promotional page.

The official pages on Disney+ are the one indicated above (and other similar page for 4 other short movies).

I disagree

You can't really disagree... it's a fact that they're separate listings on Disney+. It does seem like a TV show, but they don't talk about it that way:

Marvel Studios’ “I Am Groot” is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, and features several new and unusual characters.

There's a weird mixture of referring to them as "original shorts" but some things calling them "episodes"...

It looks like Disney is actually very intentionally not calling it a TV Series, but is using their existing framework which calls things episodes.

You have to admit that five 6-minute videos doesn't sound like a TV series either.

To my mind it still makes no sense to list these shorts as individual movies when they really would fit far more naturally into tv shows... the same as every other database or resource lists them. I think that it would be much better to follow what seems to be the obvious classification:

IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13623148/ Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Am_Groot TVmaze: https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/52351/i-am-groot The TVDB: https://thetvdb.com/series/i-am-groot

But do agree that Disney's wordplay doesn't exactly help.

Each site have its own set of rules. Here, we list things as they are officially listed by the original broadcaster. And the broadcaster list them as individual shorts.

I think that given the ambiguity that this still doesn't make sense listing them as movies... when they clearly are not. Marvel and Disney talk about them as a series, and as a show, and so arguments about them being a movie are simply casuistry to my mind. So the TV series has been deleted and that's that is it?

They are officially listed as short movies on the official broadcaster page without ambiguities. So, they should be listed as shorts. "movies" clearly appear in the URL.

Ok...pointless arguing further, but I can see now why many people get frustrated with TMDB for decisions like this that fly in the face of common sense.

This is not a TMDB decision, but a broadcaster decision. We have to follow him.

interestingly, "I am Groot" is listed as an original SERIES on the official Disney channel: https://disneyplusoriginals.disney.com/all-disney+-original-series. But the episodes are NOT listed on the Disney Original Movies listings: https://disneyplusoriginals.disney.com/all-disney+-original-movies.

As I said, I think there is ambiguity, and so respectfully I still don't agree that they should be listed as separate movies, when it seems that Disney views them as an Original Series, and it simply makes far more sense to consider them that way.

The official page is the page where you can view the movies/series, not previous promotional page. Consequently, the official page is here for the first one (and tere are four others).

I still don't agree. I also note that the TV Series is actually called "I am Groot" - the title that has been promoted absolutely everywhere, the title which is listed under its Original TV Series banner, and on which page it specifically refers to each episode as exactly that... and episode... like in a TV show. I am sorry, but I think that the mods have got this wrong.

Did you click on the "I am Groot" link on this page ? If you do it, you will land here and you will read "“I Am Groot” is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, and features several new and unusual characters. ". This is exactly the way we list it here.
