Being Mary Jane

Mary Jane Paul is a one-woman-show: a successful TV news anchor, and an entirely self-sufficient powerhouse who remains devoted to a family that doesn't share her motivation. Intense drama and unforgettable moments unfold as Mary Jane juggles her life, her relationships, her work, and commitments to her family.
Almost finished S01. Beautiful people, stunning homes, great clothes, but the attitudes that are portrayed bother me to no end. The women in particular seem to make mountains out of mole hills and then blame others for the problems in their lives. I found nothing uplifting about this series, so gave it up.

2019 Netflix supernatural, zombies, voice over narrator 4/10
Stopped watching after a couple of episodes. Too much teen silliness and language with too little supernatural. They try some interesting FX, voice over narration, etc. but it's not enough for me to watch this.

Deadwood
2004 - 2006 Originally on HBO, now available on Amazon Prime
Western/Crime/Drama/History I'd heard so much praise for this series that I was really looking forward to seeing it - watched 2 episodes and abandoned all hope for this series. The writers put very little effort into it; I think they just might have taken the list of previously banned words and written the entire script around that list. Garbage.
The story begins after Custer's Last Stand Massacre in 1876 and is set in Deadwood, South Dakota amid the corruption and crime. Historical people, situations and issues are used, but often with the motivation of entertainment instead of history.
