《追金行动》讲述的是海南某淘金场失窃黄金十箱。由杜仲雄带领的专案组，奉命前往香港，与特区警方联手侦破此案。失窃的黄金是技工罗强与徐彪里应外合夺走的。徐彪合伙人周亨设圈套试图杀徐而独吞私货，却反被徐彪所杀。杜仲雄追查中发现徐彪竟是失散多年的义弟子丰。走私商人雷天为分黄金，在警方追捕徐彪时救徐一命，并承诺替徐除掉杜仲雄等人。

Thieves steal a large shipment of gold in mainland China before being robbed themselves. The detectives investigating the case follow the thieves to Hong Kong and team up with an undercover officer to retrieve the gold and apprehend the criminals. But when one of criminals turns out to be a childhood friend of one of the cops, things get complicated.
