I don't recall the actors in it giving any worse performances than the ones in the original film did. However, I do feel that it's an inferior film to that one.

The acting is a lot better in the reboot but I do prefer the original Evil Dead. This new version wasn't bad though. I enjoyed it.

I thought the acting was fine. Competent to pretty good. It lacks the inventiveness of the original but its a decent horror film.

the implication being that Bruce Campbell can only be seen as a good actor when compared to poor ones.

This movie is actually good and the acting was fine.
The main problem is that all characters were so unbelievaly stupid. They kep making stupid after stupid decisions

Bruce tends to strike me as a guy with a strong "cult" appeal & fascination. Not everyone has to be an Academy Award winner.
