《白日之鸦》改编自2015年发表的特色警察小说。在日本，一旦被起诉，99.9%会判有罪。本片讲述了一位新人警察和年长律师，为了给一位被人陷害成色狼的上班族申冤，赌上0.1%的无罪可能性，挑战国家法律的故事。

Op een dag wordt Tomonaga Takashi, een medisch vertegenwoordiger van farmaceutisch bedrijf Tenei Seiyaku, plotseling verdacht van aanranding in een trein van mannelijke en vrouwelijke pasagiers. Hij heeft een belangrijke afspraak en probeert weg te komen. Nitta Masato, die zich haastte vanuit het politiebureau voor het treinstation waar hij dienst had, arresteert Tomonaga echter terwijl hij terugvecht. Dit is Nitta's eerste prestatie als nieuwe politieagent.

One day, Tomonaga Takashi, a medical representative of pharmaceutical company Tenei Seiyaku, is suddenly suspected of molesting inside a train by male and female strangers. He has an important appointment and tries to get away. However, Nitta Masato, who rushed over from the police box in front of the train station where he had been on duty, arrests Tomonaga as he fights back. This is Nitta’s first achievement as a new police officer.

製薬会社のMR・友永孝（遠藤憲一）は、ある日突然、見知らぬ男女から電車内での痴漢の疑いをかけられる。友永は大事な接待の約束があり、その場を逃げ去ろうとするが、駆け付けた交番勤務の新田真人（伊藤淳史）が抵抗する友永を逮捕。新人巡査の新田は初めての手柄をあげる。

警察署に連行された友永は終始無実を訴える。しかし、その言葉に耳を貸す者はなく容疑否認のまま送検、起訴されることになる。
