The Senator's life

I know that it was awful what his adoptive father did to his son, but should the senator have paid for it with his own life. I believe he was mentioned as being a very fair and just senator who knew nothing of the murder coverup.

I don't think that the Senator deserved his fate. I can understand that the whole thing had to be uncovered to allow the spirit to rest, but he really seemed to believe that his father was a good man and he himself had nothing to do with the murder at all.
