丈夫过世后，甲斐典子（古手川祐子 饰）在四年里苦苦支撑着亡夫留下来的法国料理店“艾维浓（Avignon）”，一番艰辛，生意总算有所起色。某日，画家高见雅道（高嶋政宏 饰）登门拜访，他有一幅旧作挂在店中，故希望料理店能将画暂时出借以帮助他举行个人画展。典子欣然同意，然高见却在画的背后发现一封典子的亡夫义直（古尾屋雅人 饰）留给妻子的告白信，信中义直坦露了深藏心中多年的秘密。
