I never watched the tv series but mostly enjoyed the movie. My biggest problem was the way we're supposed to love Logan from the beginning. I wasn't convinced, although I gather he's a fan favorite in the series so that would explain why the movie didn't need to cover that. It was also a little confusing to me because I didn't know who all the characters are, but I managed to figure it out.

All this points to the fact that the movie was really made for the fans, cutting out redundant backstories and character development. I actually respect that choice. Rather than dumbing it down for newbies it hits the ground running. More reboots should be done that way. But it might explain why the movie scored lower than the series in the general audience (Rottentomatoes: series 92%, movie 80%).

Well all this is guesswork so I figured I'd ask the actual fans. What did you think? Also, is it worthwhile for me to go back and watch the series? Or does the movie kinda spoil all the cliffhangers?
