In a story that follows some lives and their respective reincarnations over time, Valerio is a prince in the year one thousand and a doctor of the S.e.r.t. in the year two thousand. Altea on the other hand is a princess, who after a thousand years was reincarnated as a university student who volunteers as a mission and it also operates in the same S.e.r.t.. Their antagonist, in the past as in the present, is a man who was an alchemist and who today is the evil director of the same hospital where the S.e.r.t. is located. of Valerio and Altea. A rather anomalous director, given that he takes advantage of the cover offered by his position to traffic drugs in a big way. A fourth character is added to the three, Herrmugnen, who in the story embodies the mythological figure of the giant hero.

Ein intriganter Alchimist ruft feindliche Söldner herbei, um den Fürsten Valerio zu stürzen, setzt obendrein schwarze Magie ein, um auch die große Liebe des Edelmannes zu sabotieren. Doch eine Prophezeiung verspricht Revanche in ferner Zukunft. Tatsächlich kreuzen sich tausend Jahre später unter entsprechend veränderten Vorzeichen erneut die Wege der Rivalen.

Roma ai giorni nostri. Un gigante silenzioso, strano, un barbone, staziona davanti alla Porta magica di piazza Vittorio, frequentata da spacciatori, ubriachi, piccoli delinquenti. Qualche particolare della sua storia è emerso. Si tratta di un guerriero dell'anno mille che si è trovato proiettato nel duemila attraverso quella porta, un vero e proprio stargate. Il gigante, Herrmugnen, è al centro di due storie parallele. La prima, medievale, riguarda un orrendo alchimista che vuole tutto il potere a scapito del principe eroe Valerio e della sua innamorata Altea. La seconda vive in un ospedale di Roma dove ci sono i buoni e i cattivi, omologhi appunto, dei personaggi medievali. Ci sono battaglie, intrighi amorosi e di potere, impennate inattese, mentre Herrmugnen, con la sua draghinassa, spada da ottanta chili, protegge i buoni, passando continuamente attraverso il suo stargate.
