I think Lucas missed an opportunity here with Mace Windu killing Jango Fett just moments before clones of Jango Fett arrived fighting for the other side.

Imagine the look on his face witnessing clones of himself attack him.

Also after the battle, a shot of an unmasked clone carrying young Boba to safety would have been a nice touch.

But I guess Lucas gave into the star power Samuel L. Jackson and had to give him something cool to do.
