Awesome movie!

This is one of my all-time favorite comedies. I can't understand the rather low rating it received. Cher is awesome and I just love the Italian flavor and I'm not Italian.

Agreed! I just watched this movie again after many decades and I still love it. Young Nick Cage did a great job as Cher's love interest; the two of them played their scenes with passion and a bit of humor.
And how about the grandfather? He had few lines but delivered some of the biggest laughs in the show. This is one of my favorite movies.

Good fun, but I'm completely baffled by the Oscar for best screenplay and best actress for what is essentially a bit of heartwarming fluff.
