典型“小男人”Richard，懷才不遇的高級行政人員阿順和做小買賣的阿煌是死黨。阿煌整日沉迷於馬票，卻把家族生意棄之不顧，身負養家重擔的Richard漸漸跟著阿煌，一起玩起了馬票。
三個人盡管出身、工作都各不相同，但是大家都一心都想成就一番事業，不過對於成功依靠的是運氣還是實力，彼此之間爭論不休，鬧出了不少笑話，仿佛一組交警的罰單號碼、生日日期都會成為突然發財的契機。
務實的阿順終於立下決心要帶著朋友們闖出一番天地，Richard和阿煌用貸款頂力支持。沒想到一夥偷渡客的搗亂，把三個好朋友集資的鋪子在沖突中毀於一旦，阿順和阿煌還被判入獄，Richard一人則要在外獨自承擔財務問題，馬票成了最後的希望。這一次，幸運女神突然而至，Richard拿到了巨額獎金，但來自老婆的蠱惑，讓他陷入了掙扎的局面…… |
