Multiple viewings definately! I have watched The Revenant probably 8 times! LOL
Because of all the mumbling (especially by Tom Hardy, god bless him, he's a great actor), I catch whole new bits of dialogue that give me a better or different understanding of the story.
I'm glad you find it to be "worth multiple viewings," because I fell asleep on it, HA HAHA!! I did like the film and found it to be a cinematic achievement of sorts. It was just a little more movie than I'm able to deal with late at nights these days--about two and a half hours. Had it been 1 1/2 hrs., I would've made it, ha ha.
One aspect of it that I must delve into is its meaning. On the surface, the film seems to do a good job of ostensibly showing us "woke politics." However, those very moments felt remarkably unpleasant to a fault with me in retrospect... I mean, they didn't have to show us a man raping a woman... they didn't have to have the white guys use the n-word over and over (I know that's how they talked BACK THEN) again.... this does deserve/need a rewatch.

Best film of 2015 imo. Dunno how SPOTLIGHT won Best Picture over it.
