Why did Vigo pick Oscar?

I always wandered why Vigo picked Oscar to be the one to have his soul in his body? There were millions of babies in New York City so why did he choose Oscar?

Something to do with Diana possession maybe? That it caused a biological vortex for other ghosts to attach themselves to her or her offspring? I don't know. Best I can come up with. If no other reason just a way to shoehorn in the character again.
