Guillon, a young administrator is appointed by the French government in Ivory Coast to replace the former one, who has been assassinated. He is soon confronted to a caste oppressing the local peasants. By joining forces with the doctor and engineer he manages to restore calm. The oppressors then try terror. But the administrator refuses to be intimidated, and with the support of the natives, will be able to avenge the former administrator.

En haute Côte d'Ivoire, un administrateur est nommé en remplacement d'un de ses confrères qui vient d'être assassiné. Le nouveau promu, Guillon, se heurte à une caste qui rançonne les paysans qui ne veulent plus cultiver la terre. Or une usine pour le traitement des arachides bientôt achevée va exiger une production accrue. Aidé par le médecin et un ingénieur, Guillon réussit à rendre la confiance aux paysans noirs après avoir annihilé les entreprises de ceux qui prétendaient lui barrer la route.
