So, does anyone want to see this? This one snuck up on me, I hadn't heard of it until very recently, but I think I'm going to give it a view when I can. This looks like this would've been a good role for Sissy Spacek back in the day.
Thoughts?

Just saw it. Totally agree about the Spacek vibe, though Colman is quite a force in herself.
That said, this just passed the time. Definitely did not live up to its potential, and you won't be missing much if you don't see it.

Thank you for the feedback, AlphabetSoup.
Yeah, I did notice that this film was not well-reviewed; and as it is not showing in my area, I'll have to wait to rent it on disk (we still have a large video rental store where I live, and I am not a fan of streaming-- just a personal preference). So it sounds-- like you said --that I'm not missing much, but I'll still give it a watch once it's available.
Thanks again for the feedback:)!

So I finally saw this last night; a strong performance by Alice Englert, and a good effort by writer/director Britt Poulton (assisted by Dan Madison Savage).
It is a very quiet film, and Poulton-- who I read was motivated to make this film in large part because of her own difficult fundamentalist upbringing (although in her case she was not among snake-handlers), and who clearly no longer supports such a lifestyle-- nevertheless treats her characters and their beliefs with respect.
I'd give this film a 6 out of 10.

SPOILERS: I thought it was a decent film. It held my interest, most of the characters were believable, and I thought it did a good job of capturing the ambience of a backwoods fundamentalist church. The problem I had with it, was how it made Garrett turn out to be such a jerk at the end. It made it so easy for viewers to hate him. I'd rather see him presented with his faults and failings, but not as such a complete jerk. The ending where Mara and Augie drive off was a little too contrived.
