Mycroft and Sherlock

I haven’t seen the movie yet (planning on watching it with someone who isn’t here at the moment), so this might not be a problem in the movie, but does anyone know why they chose Sam Claflin to play Mycroft? He is three years younger than Henry Cavill, yet Mycroft is supposed to be seven years older than Sherlock.

I’ve watched the movie now and I was actually impressed that they managed to portray him as older, though not seven years older.
