I can't believe that there are NO comments on his death (besides mine).

Hi there, bratface.

I certainly knew who Michael Madsen was, but, despite his enormous CV (looking through his TMDB page, he had more than 300 credits, I had no idea), I saw very little of his work. Most of it just didn't catch my interest (I don't mean that as an insult to him, may he rest in peace).

I did see him in The Hateful Eight (2015), however, which I enjoyed.

I see that he was in a number of Tarantino's films, so if you're wondering why I haven't seen more of Mr. Madsen, it's because I haven't seen many of Quentin's films, either (but again, that's on me).

So you have never seen Reservoir Dogs, Thelma & Louise, Free Willy, or Donnie Brasco? He did a lot of TV in the 80s, too. He was in a pilot of a TV series based on the movie Diner, he played Boogie (Mickey Rourke's role in the movie version).

Heard of all those, haven't seen any of them, sorry.

Could I ask you a personal question? Yes? Okay, are you a female?

I have no issue with that question, bratface.

I am of the sex that possesses one deficient chromosome (among many other flaws).

I am a male.

And don't feel bad, bratface.

When I posted (on his page) about the death of James Earl Jones, the response here on TMDB was minimal.

James Earl Jones!

Of course, I don't mean to minimize your pain if you felt a personal connection to Michael Madsen (or even if you didn't).

For me, it was when Matthew Perry died . . . and it had nothing to do with Friends (a show I actually disliked, with a passion).

If you're curious, you can check out Mr. Perry's discussion page here on TMDB for my feelings around his death.

So, I do feel sympathetic to what you might be feeling about Mr. Madsen's death. Sometimes, it's surprising how sad we can feel upon hearing of someone's passing, even if we didn't know them.

Madsen was such a presence onscreen, it's just sad when someone dies unexpectedly. He supposedly got a clean bill of health recently.

I understand you not watching any Tarantino films (I'm not really a fan either, too violent). I have only seen one & a half of the movies he directed, Inglourious Basterds (which I only gave a 6) & I made it to the 30 minute mark of Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood. I have seen more of his films where he is credited as a writer or an actor though.

I had no idea he was dead until I just read this. They kept it very quiet.

Alas, it seems Hollywood actors are dying every 3 seconds these days.

Have you been out of 'internet' range? It has been on my news feed every day since he died (July 3rd).

I wish I'd seen more MM films. As it is, the only one I saw was Reservoir Dogs, and at the time I was going thru a hate-Tarantino phase so I didn't give the movie a fair shake. HOWEVER I do remember thinking "I hate this movie but that guy (Madsen) is raising the bar a few notches."

lmao I love that answer. Sometimes I say something like, "I am of the sex that commits 90% of the murders in the world" 🤦‍♂️

Rest in peace, Michael! Despite your typecasting, you should be remembered for awhile, sir.

Your slow, measured walk to the car as Mr. Blonde in Tarantino's 'debut' to get the gas can is still cherished in my mind as one of the best moments in your collaboration with him.
