After the first 30 minutes or so I was ready to give up, it was just too molasses-like in its pacing. Although not much changed even for some time afterwards I really got sunk into the atmosphere at that point. But boy, when it got closer the end I was hooked. There were a couple of really good freak-out moments and the whole sentinaut (?not sure if I got that right) thing was cool. I think on a second viewing I'll enjoy it more.

Oh man, I love this movie so much! You definitely should watch it again. I got into it a lot more during my second viewing. The score by Sinoia Caves is really awesome too.

I actually gave it another spin the other night and was way more engaged, even bumped up my rating significantly. It really is a trip that few movies lately are able to take me on. Also yes, Caves' score is something wondrous. I especially love the opening theme, perfectly sets the tone. There's definitely a cool Carpenter/Tangerine Dream vibe throughout & as a fan of both I think it works great.

I'm wondering if I should give this another shot.... I had started watching it a few months ago, but turned it off after only a few minutes because it had a slow, "no plot" vibe that bored me.
