Yuzo and Mitsuki live together in Yuzo's small apartment, their constant companionship tender and indifferent in turn. Then Yuzo receives a call from Satsuki, a documentarian resolved to make a film about a now-distant family tragedy, and the three meet, to search for some way to account for their relationship with one another, the memories they share, and those they've kept to themselves.

Yuzo et Mitsuki vivent ensemble dans le petit appartement de Yuzo, entretenant des rapports à la fois tendres et indifférents. Yuzo reçoit un appel de Satsuki, une documentariste déterminée à réaliser un film sur une tragédie passée qui a touché sa famille. Ils se rencontrer tous les trois, et cherchent ensemble à justifier les souvenirs et les secrets qui les relient.

AV 영화 모자이크 작업으로 생계를 유지하는 유조는 어느 날, 한 여인에게서 인터뷰 제안을 받는다. 그는 17세에 죽은 동급생 유령과 기이한 공동생활을 하고 있는 중이다. 의뢰자는 그녀의 여동생으로, 죽은 언니에 관한 다큐멘터리를 만들던 중 그에게 언니가 빙의되었다는 사실을 확인하고 싶었던 것이다. 그녀는 유조의 증언을 믿지 않지만, 그에게 빙의된 언니의 말에 반응하면서 마음이 흔들리기 시작한다. 제목이 암시하는 ‘천국과의 거리’는 유령과 신체에의 빙의, 존재하는 것과 존재하지 않는 것, 스크린에 비치는 것과 보이지 않는 것, 만질 수 없는 접촉 불가, 증언의 불확실성의 테마를 보여준다.
