Discuss Midsommar

I recently re-watched The Wicker Man (excellent, had the soundtrack stuck in my head for days) so thought it was time to give this a go.

Surprisingly bad! Had it in mind that this had been well reviewed at the time but as it transpired it was largely a complete waste of a LOT of time! A challenge therefore to both the brain and the rear end...

I've only seen this once, and I found it to be a bit lengthy if still enjoyable. LOL, what is it, about two and a half hours??? I really dig the very sunny backdrop!! Very unconventional.

I just hope noone outside Sweden sees this movie and think that this is how we are. This was a strange cult. We do celebrate midsommar, but it is just flowers, food and dsncing around the mkdsummer pole. Its mostly fun for the kids.

I can only speak for myself but rest assured that I didn't believe any Swedish seniors were really throwing themselves off of cliffs or smashing each others head in with rocks!

But I think you're right in that it's really for younger audiences. I've even seen some people genuinely say they preferred it to the Wicker Man which seemed an unbelievable possibility to me...

Yes, thanks. Being honest I hadn't seen it to the end when i wrote thst. Seen now. And its obvious just a scary scenario, with a weird cult. But sometimes I'm doubtful whether people really know about Sweden. I mean Americans still today cannot differ us to switizerland (Schweiz) , which is quite different (still in Europe though). Thinking about younger generations here. But yea, this seams to be a swedish/us co-op. The Swedish language spoken is perfect.

About the movie itself, it was a hell of a scare how it turns people, with drugs and cultural beliefs.
