曾在有害动物驱逐公司工作的悠久（松冈龙平 饰），因母亲患病而焦急万分。为了赚更多的钱，他接受了来自政府官员的委托，来到曾被当作矿山的依木山。他此行的目标是寻找并猎杀一头被村民们视为山神化身的白鹿。原来当地村落过疏化问题严重，官员为了撤销该村落，决定消除人们最为看重的神鹿。对此抱有些许疑惑的悠久逐渐步入深山，邂逅了祖辈安静生活在那里的村民们，他们日出而作，日落而息，用自己的双手撑起小小的一片天空。层峦叠嶂，翠竹青松，仙境般的小山村，因悠久的到来而杀机四伏。 　　未过多久，白鹿出现在他的面前，悠久举起手中的猎枪……

A poignant moral dilemma unfolding against lush mountainous landscapes, The Albino’s Trees follows Yuku (Ryohei Matsuoka), an animal control hunter who takes on a lucrative job to kill a rare white deer considered to be a god of the forest by a nearby village. Though Yuku initially steps up to the task in order to support his mother’s medical bills, his will begins to falter as he gets to know the villagers and the reasons behind their difficult choice to live as outsiders.

害獣駆除会社で働くユク。ある日、役場から極秘の依頼が舞い込む。それは、高額の報酬と引き換えに、地元の村で山の神様として大切にされている白鹿を秘かに撃ち殺してほしいというものだった。かすかなためらいを抱きながらも、ユクは病床の母のために山へと分け入っていく。

Las montañas del centro de Japón. Para pagar los gastos médicos para el tratamiento de la enfermedad de su madre, Yuku acepta un contrato lucrativo para matar a un extraño ciervo blanco que vive en el bosque en un pueblo remoto, y cuya presencia se cree que socava el turismo en la región. Sin embargo, cuando se aventura en el pueblo, descubre que el animal es venerado como un dios por la comunidad local, que vive en un estado de semi aislamiento del resto de la sociedad. Mientras evalúa sus responsabilidades éticas al llevar a cabo tal tarea, se acerca a los habitantes de la aldea, enfrentando sus emociones conflictivas sobre si deben seguir viviendo como "forasteros".
