4 bullets and gas?

Well they really need only like 3 bullets for 5 people - let old people in back hug each other head next to each other head and woman hug the boy head to head, you got me...

Why not just find gas station on the way? There should has to be some and it ain't that risky those two metres out of car and refill to get more mileage (compared to what they experienced), isn't?

Well because its way more dramatic and devastating. One of the best endings of a film IMO.
