Jack (Hugh Jackman) is a very handsome lariken outback road train driver who happens to secretively write a romance novel. As not to get embarrassed with his mates finding out, he writes his friend Ruby's (who's engaged to his best mate) name as the author. Jack sends it off to a publisher in Sydney who realises a big hit. He has to convinces Ruby to pretend she wrote the novel. Jack and Ruby off to Sydney where lots of shenanigans entail.
