唐僧（罗家英 饰）、孙悟空（陈浩民 饰）、朱八戒（林子聪 饰）、沙僧（火星 饰）师徒四人行至盘丝山，偶遇被捕兽夹夹伤的蜘蛛精小七（云千千 饰）并将其送至家中。孙悟空火眼金睛，见小七的母亲及众仆人是妖精所变遂下手除妖，但唐僧误以为悟空滥杀无辜，师徒二人就此决裂。没有孙悟空保护的唐僧和悟净被众蜘蛛精抓至盘丝洞，幸得本性善良的蜘蛛精小七所救，不料危后突然出现，大战一触即发。危急时刻孙悟空赶来加入战斗，众人合力压制住了危后。师徒四人坚定不移地继续踏上取经之路……

天界で大暴れした罰として、地上の五行山に閉じ込められた孫悟空。500年がたち、三蔵法師と出会った悟空は、法師の弟子となる条件でようやく助けられた。同じく法師の弟子となった猪八戒、沙悟浄を加え、経典を探す旅に出た4人は、あるとき忽然と旅人が消えてしまうという盤絲洞を訪れる。そこで美女たちに丁重なもてなしを受けた一行はすっかり彼女たちを信用するが、悟空だけは美女の正体が妖魔であることを見抜き……。

Tôn Ngộ Không trúng phải quỷ kế của lão quái Hoàng Mi, bị giam giữ đồng thời mất toàn bộ pháp lực. Lão quái Hoàng Mi xây dựng một đội quân hùng mạnh, thiết lập Đấu trường sinh tử, dùng bùn đất tạo ra Lục Nhĩ Mỹ Hầu để thay thế cho Tôn Ngộ Không thật. Tôn Ngộ Không bị áp bức rơi vào tuyệt vọng. Một kẻ quen chiến đấu đơn độc bị ép phải liên minh với các yêu quái để tự cứu mình. Sau hết thất bại này đến thất bại khác đã ngộ ra được ý nghĩa thực sự của hai chữ “Đại Thánh”.
