يعود أحمد من الخارج بعد أن درس الموسيقى ويجد منى ابنة الرجل الثري الذي تبناه في انتظاره بعد نجاحه الكبير، يتقدم لها من أجل الخطبة، إلا أن الثري يرفض، لما بينهما من فوارق اجتماعية، وتحت ضغط الباشا، تتزوج منى من ابن صديق الباشا، فينكسر قلب أحمد الذي يقرر الزواج من زيزي بطلة الفرقة كي يتغلب على حبه لمنى، وفي نفس الوقت يقوم بتعذيب نفسه، ولا يعرف أن منى أصيبت بالشلل عندما حاولت اللحاق به ليلة زفافها.
