He was OK. TBH, I suspect that most casual viewers would only have a vague memory of the character. Hurt was the second actor in the role and I can't remember people objecting to the recast which was kinda necessary this time.

Mainly so you can tell the difference between that version and the green guy. They don't really explain "in movie" but his origin story is quite different.
