...and I enjoyed this movie. I expected it to be ridiculous but it's a classic simple story, well told, and with some great performances. There's a heat to this film - I can see why it melts teenaged girls - but there's more here than in your average lazy chick flick. It captures something authentic - the excitement of being young and in love, plus Swayze offers a masterclass in 'game'. Great old-school tunes too.
Any other guys ready to admit Dirty Dancing is kinda good..?

There's just something about this film. The whole thing gells! Great chemistry all round. Fantastic music. Yes, it has heart!

You're right. It's one of the best-paced films I've ever seen. Story and character are fused into one simple, raw emotional journey.
I particularly liked Jerry Orbach's performance, his thawing was handled with the kind of skill and subtlety that I wasn't expecting from this unfairly dismissed 'chick-flick'.

I think everyone is a little bisexual when watching this movie
And yes I did need to comment on a half-decade old post to state this.
