Ralph is de arme uitvinder van een automotor met revolutionaire claims. Marvin is de rijke en voormalige studievriend. Zonder dat een van beiden het weet, zoeken ze allebei de hand van een charmante jongedame wier door schuldeisers opgejaagde ouders verlangen naar een welgestelde schoonzoon. De genegenheid van het meisje neigt echter naar Ralph. Ondertussen roept Ralph de hulp in van zijn rijke vriend bij de financiering van de autofabriek. Aldus verzekerd van succes, haast hij zich naar zijn geliefde met huwelijksplannen helemaal klaar. Alles gaat goed totdat de vier elkaar ontmoeten op een feest.

Ralph is the poor inventor of an automobile motor with revolutionary claims. Marvin is the wealthy and one time college pal. Unknown to either of them, they both seek the hand of a charming young lady whose creditor-hounded parents' desires are for a well-to-do son-in-law. However, the girl's affection leans toward Ralph. In the meantime Ralph enlists the aid of his wealthy pal in the matter of financing the motor factory. Thus assured of success, he hastens to his sweetheart with matrimonial plans all set. All is well until the four meet at a restaurant party.
