Sein Leben beeinflusste all seine Filme. Geboren am 26. April 1897 in Hamburg als Detlef Sierck begann seine Regiekarriere zunächst in Goebbels’ NS-Kino. 1937 floh er mit seiner zweiten Frau, einer Jüdin, in die USA. Dort nannte er sich Douglas Sirk und wurde zum König des Hollywood-Meldodramas. |
