Discuss Philip McKeon

Philip McKeon, 55, has passed, following a long illness.

He is best known for appearing on the t.v. sitcom Alice, as the title character's son, from 1976-1985.

His younger sister is former t.v. star Nancy McKeon.

RIP.

Very sad, shocking, very young, Philip McKeon.

Didn't realize that he's been suffering with a prolonged illness. Such a lively, spirited, energetic child actor, now gone at a young age.

As Tommy, with the rest of the "Alice" cast, he brightened Sunday evenings with that snappy, colorful program, which children were permitted to watch to contend with those "back-to-school-tomorrow" doldrums (even if you didn't finish all of your homework yet). (or, should I say, especially if you didn't finish all of your homework yet?)

Too, too many fine talents passing at relatively young ages over the course of this past week. And now Philip at a young 55.

My sympathies. Thanks for posting.

I watched Alice often back during its run and still a little bit remember Philip being on it, as well as seeing him in also some other t.v. series or the such during the same era. It's been decades since I last saw any Alice episodes, and should make a point to catch one or two on Antenna TV (which I see airs the series at 8p.m. [Eastern] on weeknights), for old time's sake, one of these evenings.
