Sir Daniel Day-Lewis has won the Academy Award for Best Actor three times, for his role as: Christy Brown in the movie "My Left Foot (1989)", Daniel Plainview in the movie "There Will Be Blood (2007)" and Abraham Lincoln _ in the movie _"Lincoln (2012)".
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for the movies "Name of the Father (1993)" (as Gerry Conlon) and "Gangs of New York (2002)" (as William "Bill the Butcher" Cutting).
