Jasika Nicole groeide op in Birmingham, AL en studeerde muziektheater, dans en studiokunst aan Catawba College in Salisbury, NC voordat ze naar New York verhuisde om in het theater te gaan werken. Daar trad ze op in off- en off-off Broadway-musicals en speelde ze voordat ze haar carrière in tv en film begon.
