Biography

Toyin Agbetu is a community educator, film director, artist-activist, and founder of Ligali, a human rights based organisation challenging the misrepresentation of African people, culture and history in the media. He is the author of Revoetry and Ukweli – A Political and Spiritual Basis for Pan Africanism and has a first class degree in education and community development. Toyin is frequently asked for interviews and article contributions. Heco-curated Hackney Museums’ Sankofa exhibition on the history of African History Month and is the director of Maafa Truth 2007, The Walk (2007), Maafa Legacy (2008), Maisha Solutions (2009), Maisha Choices (2009) and Beauty Is... (2013) a film on the politics of beauty through his lens as a philosopher and philologist.
