Met him in Munich in June 2013. What a charming and sympathetic guy he is! He's able to draw almost anything. Got me a Daisy Duck drawing, the fellow in front of me asked Daan about a Djafar one and Daan drew it perfectly without hesitation although he hasn't worked on Aladdin since 1992.

Our paths met again in Summer 2016 during Comicsalon Erlangen. As always, there's a party near the end of the festival. My most valued memory of the whole Comic Festival was Daan Jippes seizing the dance floor with his most elegant 1970s style dance moves.
