Biography

Matt Geller is an experienced entertainment executive and producer with expertise in development, co-productions, packaging, and sales. His deep understanding of intellectual property (IP) development and strong industry relationships have positioned him as a key player in film and television.

Previously, Geller was President of Josephson Entertainment, overseeing the company behind "THE ENCHANTED" franchise, "DIRTY GRANDPA," and "BONES." He led strategy and managed film and television projects, including the adaptation of "KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN" as a movie musical, directed by Bill Condon and starring Jennifer Lopez, Diego Luna, and Tonatiuh. The film was an official selection at Sundance.

Before Josephson, Geller produced "REMEMBER," starring Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau, directed by Atom Egoyan, which premiered at the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals and was distributed by A24. He also produced "BORN TO BE BLUE," a Chet Baker biopic starring Ethan Hawke, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

In television, Geller was Co-Executive Producer on CBC's "FOUR IN THE MORNING," created by Ira Parker. He also worked on "DEPARTURE," starring Christopher Plummer, which completed its third season and was acquired by Peacock/NBC. As Co-Head of Programming at Raze, a media company co-founded by Sofia Vergara, he oversaw scripted content and secured a slate deal with Pantelion Films/Lionsgate.

Geller previously ran Six Point Films, collaborating with Branko Lustig on "LEAVING SHANGHAI" and an Israeli series reformat, "PINI." He also managed Wonderfalls Entertainment with Tony-nominated director Kristin Hanggi, producing films such as "NAOMI & ELY’S NO KISS LIST" and "DEAR DUMB DIARY."

At Lightworks Pictures, Geller specialized in branded franchises with Sony AFFIRM, overseeing "AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE" and "SERVING LIFE," which won the Humanitas Award and was acquired by Oprah Winfrey’s OWN. He also worked in distribution at Focus Features on campaigns for "HOT FUZZ," "EASTERN PROMISES," "LUST, CAUTION," and "ATONEMENT."

Earlier in his career, Geller was a development executive at DLT Entertainment, contributing to "MY FAMILY," "AS TIME GOES BY," and the US distribution of "NEIGHBOURS."

Geller is a member of the Producers Guild of America and The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
