Biography |
Cai Shangjun was born in Beijing and graduated from the Literature Department of the Central Academy of Drama in 1992. Afterwards he focused on writing screenplays for such films as SPICY LOVE SOUP (1997) and SHOWER (1999). In 2006, he made his directorial debut with THE RED AWN, which received the Golden Alexander Award for Best Film at the 48th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, as well as the FIPRESCI Award at the 2007 Busan International Film Festival. In 2011, his sophomore feature PEOPLE MOUNTAIN PEOPLE SEA premiered as the "surprise film" at the 68th Venice International Film Festival, the fourth Chinese-language film to play there under such billing; in a subsequent upset, the film won the festival's Silver Lion for Best Direction. |

Biography |
蔡尚君,中国导演及编剧,生于北京。1992年从中央戏剧学院戏剧文学系毕业,主要从事编剧工作,作品有1997年的《爱情麻辣烫》及1999年的《洗澡》等。2006年,他执导了自己的电影处女作《红色康拜因》,并在2007年凭借《红色康拜因》擒获第48届塞萨洛尼基电影节最佳影片金亚历山大奖,同年还获得釜山国际电影节夺得国际影评人协会大奖。2011年,由其执导的《人山人海》成为第68届威尼斯电影节的“惊喜片”,是华语影片第四次以惊喜片的身份入围威尼斯电影节,最后爆冷夺得第68届威尼斯电影节最佳导演银狮奖。 |
