Biography
At three years old, Timothy Kandra refused to enter a theater playing Finding Nemo, terrified of the dark and booming sound. Today, he’s a filmmaker, videographer, and multimedia specialist based in Atlanta, GA, with an obsessive passion for storytelling and the moving image. Timothy spent eight years immersed in film education, beginning with the Performing and Visual Arts (PVA) Magnet Program at Annapolis High School and culminating in a B.F.A. in Film & Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he graduated in 2021. After college, he worked as a videographer for a professional dance company, capturing the nuance of live performance, before joining the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2022 as a multimedia specialist. He developed content across formats, combining visual design, editing, and motion graphics to deliver impactful communication. With a background in stage acting and a history of writing film reviews since middle school, Timothy approaches his work with both a performer’s sensitivity and a critic’s eye. He aspires to write and direct original films—especially musicals—and is an outspoken advocate for asexual visibility, proudly representing the community through his voice and art.
