Fawzia Aref

Biography

She was born in Iraq in 1945, and has participated in many film, TV and stage productions. She graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Acting in Baghdad in 1967, where she studied under the late great theater director Ibrahim Jalal, who gave her a leading role in his famous play The Flood. Fawzia was one of the most famous members of the Modern Artistic Theater Troupe, where she performed many plays, including Antigone, and The Merchant of Venice. Then she moved to the National Acting Troupe, and became a main member of it, and with it she presented several works, most notably The Eagle and Eyes of the City (1983).

ولدت بالعراق عام 1945، وقد شاركت في العديد من الأعمال الفنية ما بين الدراما التليفزيونية والسينمائية وكذلك المسرح، فقد تخرجت في معهد الفنون الجميلة قسم التمثيل ببغداد عام 1967، حيث تتلمذت على إيدي المخرج المسرحي الكبير الراحل (إبراهيم جلال)، الذي أسند لها دور البطولة في مسرحيته الشهيرة (الطوفان). وقد كانت فوزية من أشهر عضوات فرقة المسرح الفني الحديث حيث قدمت العديد من المسرحيات منها (أنتيجون)، (النسر له رأسان)، (تاجر البندقية). ثم انتقلت بعد ذلك إلى الفرقة القومية للتمثيل، وصارت عضو رئيسي بها، وقدمت عبرها عدة أعمال أبرزها (النسر وعيون المدينة) عام 1983.
