Zakir Hossain Raju, a filmmaker and professor born in 1970 from Bangladesh, began demonstrating his talent at an early age when he wrote and staged a children's play at the age of twelve. He pursued a degree in mass communication and journalism at Dhaka University starting in 1987. Raju authored articles covering various topics such as media, society, environment, and human rights for local publications. In 1990, he published "Chalachitrer Chalchitra," a collection exploring the history and aesthetics of Bangladeshi cinema. In the same year, he co-founded Protishabda Alternative Communication Centre with the goal of establishing a nationwide alternative audiovisual communication network. Raju is also involved in teaching film and documentary workshops.
