Biography
Sir Frederick Tymms (1889-1987) was a British aviator. He served in the Army and as an observer in No. 5 Squadron Royal Flying Corps until 1918, when he became a member of the British Aviation Mission to the USA. Tymms worked in the Civil Aviation Department of the Air Ministry, from 1920 to 1927, and led the Air Section of the Oxford University Arctic Expedition to Spitsbergen in 1924.
