Actor, comedian, writer, producer, and children's entertainer Paul Reubens (born Paul Rubenfeld), famous for his hilarious, endearingly childlike 'Pee-Wee Herman' character and persona, has passed, the result of cancer. He was 70.
RIP Pee-wee.

Time is weird. I was thinking "WTF? He's so young!" Because I'm picturing him as Pee-Wee Herman as he appeared over 30 years ago.
RIP.

So sad! Pee Wee's Playhouse was the only thing that got me out of bed on a Saturday morning! I used to have the whole series on VHS but loaned it to my daughter so she could show her kids, never got them back!

It certainly was totally unexpected, very sad news about his passing. Sure never saw that coming.

Very few could have. He deliberately kept his cancer diagnosis private, and even wrote a letter to fans - to have been released after his death - divulging the reasons why.
Poignant.

Reubens could have lived to be 100+, and he still would have been the “Pubescent Pee-wee Herman” to me. He always looked as if he was having such a good time with the role.
Even now, just the thought of Pee-wee and his antics still makes me smile.

LMAO! I love that scene and quotation, DRD! I've personally many times throughout the years, for laughs, said that line. Has to be said in dead seriousness! lol
