谭家明是香港电影导演兼剪辑师。谭咏麟是1970年代末和1980年代香港新浪潮电影导演的一部分，其作品广受赞誉。

他也被誉为王家卫的导师，曾担任《狂野的日子》（包括梁朝伟在最后一幕中的出场）和《时间的灰烬》的剪辑师。

谭先生自1995年起从事学术工作，现为香港城市大学创意媒体学院副教授。

Patrick Tam Kar-ming is a Hong Kong film director and editor. Part of Hong Kong's New Wave of film directors in the late 1970s and 1980s, Tam's works have enjoyed great acclaim.

He is also known as the mentor of Wong Kar-Wai, and worked as an editor on Days of Being Wild (including Tony Leung Chiu-Wai's appearance in the last scene) and Ashes of Time.

Tam has worked as an academic since 1995, and now serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.
