Discuss Henry Cavill

A thread for MI6.

While discussing the sixth film in the franchise, "Mission: Impossible — Fallout," at CinemaCon on Wednesday, Cruise detailed one of the film's action sequences, in which Cruise's Ethan Hunt jumps from a plane at nearly 30,000 feet to catch Henry Cavill's free-falling character.

To get the three shots that he and director Christopher McQuarrie (who returns after directing "Mission Impossible — Rogue Nation") wanted, Cruise jumped out of a C-17 plane 106 times.

Christopher McQuarrie’s Feelings On Henry Cavill’s Potential Return To Mission: Impossible I’m in the process of rewriting Mission: 8 right now, this afternoon I could turn a page and any actor from the past could come back. There is no such thing as death in movies, only unavailability.

“Unavailability” is something that’s definitely plagued the twin sequels that McQuarrie signed on to tackle after the success of Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Mission: Impossible 7 alone had two major shakeups occur, as Henry Cavill’s on-screen boss Angela Bassett was unable to return to her role of Erika Sloane as planned. On top of that, Nicholas Hoult’s casting as the main villain had to be scrapped, as scheduling delays made him unavailable to remain on board the project. His recasting with actor Esai Morales, as well as Bassett’s unavailability crisis, both stemmed from the magical world of COVID-related restrictions and delays.

So 32 yo NH was replaced with 59 yo Esai Morales. Really? Did Corona kill every young actor? I was told that this news was made public in May 2020.

'Mission Impossible: 8' Begins Filming, as Budget For 'M:I 7' Hits Nearly $300 Million

THR reports that the still-unfinished Mission: Impossible 7 has already hit a massive $290 million budget, with tax incentives. That’s the highest of the franchise. The report cited sources as saying that Cruise convinced Paramount CEO Brian Robbins to give him more money to finish the seventh and the eighth films, arguing that inflation had driven up costs. The decision to release M:I 7 on the fledgling Paramount+ streaming app 45 days after the film’s theatrical release is said to have caused tensions between Cruise and the studio, with the star reportedly having lawyered up. But he is believed to have let the issue lie until work on the film is finished.

THR reports that both Cruise and McQuarrie contracted the virus, with McQuarrie ending up in hospital in London.

COVID still aint over. A few days ago, Taron Egerton (32) fainted on stage during the West End premiere of his new show. Just like that. He recovered and was fine. Now he has tested positive for COVID.

Hailey Bieber (25) had something scarier than COVID bc she could have literally dropped dead. She suffered a stroke like thing and was hospitalized bc of a small blood clot that caused a lack of oxygen to her brain.

Don’t think you have all the time in the world. Enjoy each day like it is your last.

THR: Ultimately, both Cruise and McQuarrie — neither of whom was believed to be vaccinated at the time — contracted the virus, according to sources. McQuarrie’s illness was so severe that he was hospitalized in London, a source says. (Why the two weren’t vaccinated isn’t clear, but in Cruise’s case, it apparently was not because Scientology has taken a position against it, as some in town have speculated. Sources familiar with the organization’s policy say it has left the decision up to members.) Neither Cruise nor McQuarrie responded to a request for comment.

I think it’s irresponsible to imply that TC and McQ may not be vaccinated because they got sick. The vaccine is supposed to prevent you from ending up in intensive care. But you can get sick. Everybody takes the vaccine and assume it works. But it doesn’t work on everybody. Those who knows this doesn’t take a blood test to verify if it works.

Why am I hearing this now? You can’t trust a bunch of geeks to keep you informed.

Some say the insurance won’t pay if you catch Covid and you’re not vaccinated.

Party like it’s 2099.

BTW, I hear Hailey was trying to get pregnant. True? False?

Tom Cruise’s ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Gets Title Reveal at CinemaCon

Paramount unveiled the first look at Tom Cruise’s upcoming mission as Ethan Hunt in the Mission: Impossible franchise along with a title reveal: Mission: Impossible 7 — Dead Reckoning: Part 1

The news was broken — by Cruise himself — during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation inside the Colosseum theater at Caesars Palace. But before that, Paramount chief Brian Robbins took the stage and complimented Cruise as the “hardest-working and most daring performer in Hollywood,” before confirming that the actor would not appear at the confab in person, as he was busy filming. But Cruise did deliver a “special message,” true to the compliment and his CinemaCon history.

Cut to Cruise on the big screen, standing up from his seat in an antique red plane that, as the camera zoomed out, it was revealed was hovering high above a canyon in South Africa. “Hey everyone,” Cruise said, his voice muffled slightly due to the wind. “Wish I could be there with you. I’m sorry for the extra noise. As you can see, we are filming the latest installment of Mission: Impossible.”

Just then, a yellow plane appeared with M:I 7 helmer Christopher McQuarrie inside, who instructed Cruise that it was time to go. Before flying off, Cruise introduced the first look at the film’s trailer, followed by his upcoming film Top Gun: Maverick in its entirety.

“Let’s all try to have a great summer. See you at the movies!” The plane then veered left and took a steep drop down into the canyon in a death-defying stunt. The CinemaCon crowd loved it.

I think it was just a rumor, because Justin touched her stomach.

Cool name.

Dead Reckoning means the process of calculating one's position, especially at sea, by estimating the direction and distance traveled rather than by using landmarks, astronomical observations, or electronic navigation methods.

Tom Cruise Finally Addressed Henry Cavill Growing a Beard Mid-Scene in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’

BBC Radio 1 interviewed Cruise leading up to Top Gun: Maverick. However, they also went back to discuss some of his older projects. The world still praises Cruise for Mission: Impossible – Fallout alongside Cavill. The interviewer brought up the bathroom fight scene to get the actor’s take and it turns out that he’s just as stumped as everybody else.

“It is, I’m telling you, we looked at that over and over in rushes,” Cruise said. “The editing room were going, ‘How did you do that, Henry?’ OK, he is so talented that he can do that. I remember the time I saw the take and he did that, I was like, ‘This is awesome! This is amazing.’ I wish I could grow a beard like that. I was like, ‘That happened.’”

Cruise concluded: “But, you had to play it back, and you could play it back in slow motion and I still can’t figure it out. It is the wildest thing.”

Some folks believe that it had to do with lighting or compression. However, this proves that the Cavill clip amazed Cruise just as much as it did the rest of the world.

I wish I could grow a beard like that.

Does that mean he can’t grow a beard? I don’t think I have ever seen TC with a beard. McQ said the thing he had in MI5 was fake.

TC had a beard in The Last Samurai. arrow_down

McQ on the 200th episode of Light The Fuse podcast: There is a returning character from ‘Fallout’ and returning in a delightfully unexpected way… Kind of an Easter egg in ‘Part One’ and then in full force in ‘Part Two.'

Who’s coming back? thinking August Walker? Solomon Lane? Julia? Erik? Nils Debruuk? Erika Sloan? Alan Hunley?

Release dates:
07/14/2023 Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
06/28/2024 Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two

Geeks think that HC didn’t have COVID. He just needed a few days off to shoot his MI7 cameo. lol They claim that for that favor, NX got the rights to stream all the MI films for awhile in certain territories. Sounds far-fetched, but I hope it’s true.

There was a rumor that HC had to film the cameo for BA. BA is in Oct. while MI7 is next year July. So that rumor sounds more plausible. Let’s hope it’s not true.
