Had to repost these gems. All of them are from Bosslogic's account who has such a keen eye and talent for this kind of stuff. There is a capture of emotion and tone skill set there that I haven't seen often. So, very nicely done mate! Also, it's pretty cool to see what I would look like as Super Mario, Solid Snake and Geralt!!

The preparation to become a Witcher is grueling exercise! scream

We Got This Covered

I’m sure that Cavill’s preparation to become a Witcher is grueling exercise. After all, the preparation to become one in the books is absolutely brutal.

This involves consumption of an alchemic mutagen that causes seven out of ten people who take it to die in horrible agony. The remaining 30% still get the horrible agony, but they come out the other side with superhuman reflexes, the ability to consume potions that would kill a normal man and the signature Witcher cat-like eyes.

Now that Cavill’s getting into shape, I’d bet principal photography will begin pretty soon. So, expect your first picture of the actor in full Witcher gear and with Geralt’s white shock of hair to arrive shortly.

Game Revolution

Two of the biggest video game properties based on fictional novels are The Witcher and Metro 2033. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the best games ever made

However, the authors behind the two series don’t appear to get along,

The author was asked about The Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski, and Sapkowski’s recent attempts to get $16 million from developer CD Projekt for continued use of his property. Sapkowski originally sold the rights to The Witcher franchise for use in video games for around $10,000, and waived his right for royalties because at the time he didn’t believe the games would make any money.

Dmitry Glukhovsky, who appears to be more of a video game fan than Sapkowski, calls him “an old fool” for his recent actions, and believes The Witcher creator “f***ed up.” Glukhovsky also believes that “he regrets it very much,” and that one of the reasons for him asking CD Projekt for more money is because “his wife nags him about it in the evening.”

The Metro author also adds that “he is an ungrateful schmuck, because without this great game franchise, he would not be where he is now, there would not be any Netflix.” The Netflix series is based on Sapkowski’s novels rather than the games, so CD Projekt do not have any involvement. However, regarding that Netflix series, Glukhovsky believes Sapkowski is making a big mistake pursuing legal action against the developer of The Witcher and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, “because Netflix can get scared and back out… Netflix does not like legal issues.”

Differences between the book and the game.

(SPOILER)

  1. Cavill is more than eye candy, even though the books mention Geralt is not the most handsome fella in the room.
  2. while he’s a bit of a ladies man in the games (Yennefer or Triss was such a tough choice, plus there were all those brothels) he really isn’t in the books.
  3. Geralt sometimes wears a bandana around his head to keep his hair back and, while it might look cool in the video games, Geralt only ever wears a steel sword on back. The silver sword is wrapped up and carried by Roach until Geralt needs it.
  4. In the video games, Ciri isn’t in the picture until “Witcher 3” and even then, Geralt spends half of the game tracking her down. That also happens in the book, but not in the same way. After finally taking her in (he abandons her more than once before realizing he actually cares about her), Geralt brings Ciri to Kaer Morhen where he, Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel, and Coën (who’s not in the game), try to raise her the best way they know how – like she was a witcher in training. She becomes pretty good, too, which is why she is referred to often as “The Witcher Girl.”
  5. In the game, her [Ciri] father, Emhyr var Emreis, the ruler of Nilfgaard, will do anything to bring Ciri back so that she could sit on the Nilfgaardian throne. That and I guess he cares for her? It’s tough to tell. In the books, however, you know Ciri’s mother and father were killed when their boat sank in Skellige and Pavetta and Duny (Ciri’s father) were never seen again. Except, that’s not quite right. You see, while Pavetta is indeed dead, Duny is not. If you played the video game and were wondering who this Duny fellow was they kept mentioning in the books, there you go. Duny is Emhyr, and the right bastard does want to find Ciri, but he wants to actually marry her. Yes, he wants to marry his daughter to keep the bloodline strong. Yep, I know.
  6. Dandelion … Jaskier … is not dumb or a sidekick, as he’s played out to be in the video game. In the books, it is mentioned that he studied just about every subject there was at Oxenfurt Academy, even going so far as teaching at the school.

The Wrap

Here’s the official logline for the series: Based on the best-selling fantasy series, “The Witcher” is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Haters don’t have anything meaningful to say. So they say nonsense like HC stole the look or the wig is cheap.

Are they kidding me? Many fictional characters have white hair.

  • Raiden (Mortal Kombat 1995)
  • Legolas (LOTR 2001)
  • Lucius Malfoy (Harry Potter 2002)
  • Thranduil (The Hobbit 2012)

So every character with a white wig after Raiden stole the look from Raiden? Some even say that HC resembles those characters. Well, if he resembles them, then every character with a white wig after Raiden resembles Raiden. All those characters resemble each other.

Seriously, how many ways can you style a white wig on a man’s head? And those haters seem to forget that TW’s set in the Medieval. There’s no way a Medieval man’s natural hair would look like that. It’d look hundred times worse – dirty, greasy, frizzy and tangled.

Believe you me, nobody wants to waste money on a good wig for a franchise starter or a series first season. Some are still trying to forget Storm’s awful wig in the first X-Men (2000). That was a $75 mil (adjusted $113,643,007) motion picture for the silver screen. Oh, let’s not forget Daenerys’s wig in GOT season one. rofl

HC’s perfect to play G. Although, G’s not supposed to be gorgeous. Maybe they hope the cheap wig will make him ugly. If that was the plan, they better come up with another plan. lol

I’m surprised how much HC gets p/ep. I expected the gap between him an DJ to be more than just $50G. And $200G is a lot of money, but the black space between Julia Roberts star and HC’s is enormous. rofl

I honestly thought HC’d get $150 or $200G p/ep for the first season. If TW’s a success, he’ll get a huge raise. But almost half a mil p/ep for the first season means a three-quarter or maybe a full mil p/ep for the second season. So the Brit ain't doing so bad.

Variety (The ladies will find this interesting.)

The state of California barred employers this year from asking prospective workers how much money they made in previous jobs. The new law was designed to redress wage disparity; women and minorities are often paid less than white men at early career stages, and that pay gap tends to stick with workers through the years.

The law has had a dramatic impact in television, where it has killed the long-enshrined quote system by which studios would determine what to offer an actor for a project based on his or her pay history.

Now that studios are no longer able to negotiate based on a quote, many are structuring offers to actors with more thought given to “what casting directors and producers consider their value to the project,” according to Grace Wu, exec VP of casting for NBC. That approach, she says, “has helped people that have been marginalized in the past. Which is really, I would say, women and people of color.”

https://variety.com/2018/tv/features/tv-salaries-top-stars-2018-1203008118/

They must have considered HC very valuable to the project to give him $400G p/ep the first season. Good for him. beers
