In 2017, the two met for the first time in Australia at the Brisbane Supernova Convention. Drake was 30 years old at the time, while Millie was just 13 years old. Drake was a huge fan of the series Stranger Things and fanboyed over the character Eleven, so the two immediately clicked and became friends. Millie Bobby Brown admitted this later in 2018 while in an Emmy Awards interview.

Drake had been messaging Millie often since their first encounter. She also stated that they communicated regularly through text and that Drake-assisted her with her boy issues. Millie Bobby Brown received a lot of flak after the interview since rumours of them dating surfaced.

She opened further about her connection with the rapper during the 2018 Emmy Awards, saying that they text each other as everyone’s aware and, while saying so, shared a moment that happened before the day where the duo texted each other “I miss you”. Millie further mentioned that Drake was amazing.

The young star Millie then vented out her response and frustration through her Instagram story saying “Why do you insist on making a wonderful relationship your headline? You folks are strange… seriously. I’m fortunate that people in the industry are willing to give their time and expertise to assist me to advance my career. I’m really fortunate to have such wonderful individuals in my life. You don’t get to decide for me. It’s wonderful to have folks who get what I’m going through. Drake was under fire because of a 2010 vid that resurfaced in 2018/2019. In the vid, he kissed a 17 yo fan on stage. He was 23 or 24. Because of that, some think he likes under age girls. That keeps happening to Camila Cabello too. She had a weird blog when she was 14. It resurfaced, she apologized… several times. But haters revived it again when her film Cinderella was released.

Those eager to cancel and boycott must be green right now. Cinderella was the biggest movie on streaming for the holiday weekend. And Drake…

Brown is not the only girl. Although, non of girls accused Drake of anything. On the contrary, they say he’s the nicest guy and a mentor-like figure giving advice.

After Crediting R. Kelly on New Track, Conversation Continues on Drake’s Alleged Trend of Befriending Underage Girls

The allegations of inappropriate interactions between the Canadian-born rapper and various underage girls has been an issue for years. The larger list of girls (some now women) includes some well-known names like Billie Eilish and Jorja Smith. However, three in particular seemingly come with the most red flags: Millie Bobby Brown, Bella Harris, and an unnamed girl at a concert in 2010.

After sexually teasing a girl on stage at a concert in Colorado in 2010 (as demonstrated in a resurfaced video), Drake then asks her how old she is. When the girl replies that she’s 17, he immediately backs up and jokes about not being ready for jail. In his reply, he also puts the blame on her by talking about her body rather than his actions. Despite these poor jokes and attempts to redirect the conversation, he goes back to line-crossing as he tells her, “Well listen 17, I had fun and I don’t know if I should feel guilty or not, but I had fun. I like the way you breast feels against my chest.” The rest is muffled out because the crowd is cheering.

He ends his gross goodbye by kissing her four times (hands, cheeks, and forehead) and then ends on her lips. Everything before knowing her age could have been a just gross mistake, but not everything after. At the time, he was about 23 and being deliberate in his action to continue to talk about her body and kiss her lips.

Fast forward a few years to the late 2010s, when multiple images show Drake (then 29) posing in photos with model Bella Harris (then 15.) These photos from 2016 alone aren’t what caused the alarm. With Harris being a model for Fenty-Puma as early as 2016 and her father being a major R&B producer and Grammy chair (Jimmy Jan), it isn’t surprising that she interacted with Drake and would be a fan. It was more of the flurry of more intimate photos of them both that she posted in the 3–4 months after turning 18 that caused the most upset.

Rumors quickly turned to “they are dating” four months after her 18th birthday. This came from photos and reports that Drake and Harris ate dinner together at an emptied D.C. restaurant. There are some conflicting reports saying he emptied it for her or that they waited until everyone left, but regardless, it happened. Since that dating rumor, many of the photos were deleted from Harris’ Instagram.

The conversation around Drake’s behavior was first discovered by many when Millie Bobby Brown (then 15) revealed in 2018 that she and Drake text each other. She said that Drake gives her boy advice, but it wasn’t anything she could share on TV.

While this was just Millie speaking to their friendship, Drake gifted her merch leading up to his 2018 album and has been photographed with her before that Access interview. When people discussed the strangeness of their behavior and how it was not okay for him to be friends with an underage girl like that, Brown took to her Instagram stories to defend their friendship.

Many of the young and underage women (Eilish, Brown, etc.) that people have accused Drake of grooming have all said he is the nicest guy and is a mentor-like figure giving advice.

In addition to being shielded by our culture just because he is a successful man, Drake is also protected by his status as a light-skinned Black man with an audience that appears to be mostly made up of women.

His appearance of softness is not just a byproduct of how we look at light-skinned men; Drake engages with it. For a while, he had a heart shaved into the top of his cut. His album is even called Certified Lover Boy. The problem isn’t that he chooses to express masculinity in ways outside of the rigid mainstream; it is that fans and others overlook the possibility of predatory behavior when he does this.

Non-binary Justice League actor Ezra Miller also challenges gender expectations, and there is a video of them appearing to choke out a women in Iceland in 2020. Women are also overlooked for their abuse towards men and children because of gender expectations. It’s dangerous to assume anyone is incapable of predatory or abusive behavior just because they don’t publicly exude toxic masculinity.

The age of majority in Colorado is 18. So the 17 yo fan was underage. However, the age of consent in Colorado is 17. It also has the close-in-age exception Romeo and Juliet law. A 15 or 16 yo can legally consent to sex with someone less than 10 years older. Drake was 23 and 24 in 2010. So, if the 17 yo fan gave her consent, the kiss and hugging were allowed.

I think the age of majority and the age of consent should be the same to avoid confusion.

These girls have parents and their friendship with Drake isn’t a secret. The parents are the ones who can decide whether the friendship should continue or not. If the author finds it strange, inappropriate or wrong is her problem. She doesn’t get to decide for others what social behavior/interaction is correct or not. Meddling in other people’s business and make awful assumptions is wrong.

I bet haters think we’re making excuses for Drake because he’s a successful light-skinned man. I’m more concern about the girls, TBH. I wouldn’t want anybody to imply that I’m being groomed. That’s awful. And as much as I’d like to stop crimes from happening before they do, the docu about Drake grooming girls will have to happen after he’s actually been convicted of grooming girls. Even when girls accuse him, he’s still innocent till a judge says he’s guilty.

I’m not making excuses. The article fails to mention the age of consent, but it emphasizes the underage. When people read underage, they’ll think something illegal happened. It’s fine to warn people, but you should include everything.

Thank goodness the curls are real. It wouldn’t be fun if they weren’t. The pic with short hair was posted Sept. 6. His hair can grow that length in four weeks. Or maybe the short hair was a wig? The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees’ crew members working in the U.K. are preparing to down tools if the strike proceeds on October 18.Bectu, which represents the U.K.’s below-the-line workers, has confirmed it has received calls from heads of department (HODs) on U.K. productions asking about replacing IATSE workers in the U.K. The British union will advise members not to replace any striking IA members, said Spencer MacDonald, national secretary for the London production and regional production division of Bectu.

Affected productions will be those covered by either the Producer-IATSE Basic Agreement or IATSE’s Theatrical and Television Motion Picture Area Standards Agreement, whose crew are members of IATSE.

Among the signatories to either or both of those agreements are Warner Bros. Pictures, which is currently filming “Aquaman 2” and “Wonka” in the U.K.; Legendary Pictures, which is shooting “Enola Holmes 2”; and Lionsgate, which is filming “The Expendables.”

“Given the unprecedented nature of a potential nationwide film and TV worker strike, the full impact is difficult even for us to anticipate,” Jonas N. Loeb, communications director of IATSE’s New York branch told Variety. “We’re hoping the producers and studios continue working with us to make a deal that addresses core issues like reasonable rest periods, long hours, meal breaks and living wages so we are never forced to find out.”

If negotiations falter, 60,000 union members will begin a nationwide, and potentially international — strike against the major studios that could bring the film and entertainment industry to its knees.
