芥川龙之介（1892－1927），他是日本大正时代小说家。他全力创作短篇小说，在短暂的一生中，写了超过150篇短篇小说。他的短篇小说篇幅很短，取材新颖，情节新奇甚至诡异。作品关注社会丑恶现象，但很少直接评论，而仅用冷峻的文笔和简洁有力的语言来陈述，便让读者深深感觉到其丑恶性，因此彰显其高度的艺术感染力，其代表作品如《罗生门》、《竹林中》已然成为世界性的经典之作。

Ryūnosuke Akutagawa (芥川 龍之介 Akutagawa Ryūnosuke, 1 March 1892 – 24 July 1927), art name Chōkōdō Shujin (澄江堂主人) was a Japanese writer active in the Taishō period in Japan. He is regarded as the "Father of the Japanese short story" and Japan's premier literary award, the Akutagawa Prize, is named after him. He committed suicide at the age of 35 through an overdose of barbital.

Ryūnosuke Akutagawa (芥川龍之介, Akutagawa Ryūnosuke), né le 1er mars 1892 à Tokyo et mort dans la même ville le 24 juillet 1927, est un écrivain japonais. Principalement auteur de nouvelles, des textes tels que Gruau d'Ignames (Imogayu), Dans le fourré (Yabu no naka) et Figures infernales (Jigokuhen) sont inspirées des recueils de contes Konjaku monogatari shu et Uji Shui monogatari. Il a aussi écrit des histoires pour enfants, notamment Le Fil d'araignée (Kumo no ito) et To Shishun.

Il a aussi comme nom d'artiste Chôkôdôshujin (澄江堂主人) et nom de poète Gaki (我鬼).
